This patch will make alterations to Apple's LaserWriter 8.1.1 printer driver to increase its ease of use. Changes include:
• Allowing a printer description file to be selected when no printers are currently on–line.
• Placing a "Layout" menu in the Print dialog box, allowing "n–up" printing to be selected without going to "Page Setup."
• Adding 6, 8, 9, and 16 Up choices to the Layout menu for maximum flexibility.
PLEASE READ THE ENCLOSED DOCUMENTATION FOR COMPLETE DETAILS ABOUT THIS PATCH!
This patch WILL NOT work with version 8.0 of the LaserWriter 8 printer driver. It MAY work with later versions, but no guarantees! In addition, it MAY work with Adobe's PSPrinter driver, which was co–developed with Apple, but again, this has NOT been tested. If you are able to successfully apply these patches to versions other than LW8.1.1, please send e-mail to address given under "Author."
NOTE: Remember, DO NOT apply this patch to your original file; the patch will allow you to create a new file with a different name.
This patch cannot work properly while virus detection software is running. Please make sure that you have disabled any virus detectors before applying the patch.

This patch is freeware; all I ask for is a quick postcard or e-mail message telling me how you like the patch, etc (I'm not really a programmer, and this only took an hour to put together, so I don't feel that asking for money is a good idea). I hope you find this useful. By the way, thanks to Michael Hecht for his wonderful ResCompare program!
This patch application was made with ResCompare, a free resource comparison and patch generation utility. ResCompare can be FTP’ed from most Macintosh archive sites. Send e-mail inquiries regarding ResCompare to Michael_Hecht@mac.sas.com.
